Commissioned in 2003, John Coll's, Brendan Behan Sculpture sits on the Royal Canal, just off Dorset Street.
A very peaceful statue on the banks of the Royal Canal, but close to a prison, where Behan spent some years of his life. Most of all, Behan was a writer and poet, but he was also involved in the IRA. The statue shows Behan looking at a bronze blackbird. |
